Vet to Vet of Georgia, Inc. is proud to announce the appointment of Christian Coomer as its new Executive Director, effective July 15, 2025. A distinguished Georgia lawyer, veteran, former judge, and former legislator, Christian Coomer brings a wealth of leadership experience and a deep commitment to serving those who served our nation.

Founded in 1981 by Dr. Robert Poston (Major, Retired, U.S. Army), Vet to Vet of Georgia is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing veteran suicide through personalized support, peer counseling, and assistance with accessing benefits and services. Though based in Georgia, Vet to Vet serves veterans across the United States. Over the past five years, the organization has logged more than 29,000 veteran contacts at its weekly meetings and assisted over 1,200 veterans in navigating the VA claims process.

The Board of Directors of Vet to Vet of Georgia unanimously selected Christian Coomer to lead the organization into its next chapter. In addition to his service as a Georgia attorney, Christian Coomer previously served with distinction as a judge on the Georgia Court of Appeals and as a state legislator in the Georgia House of Representatives. His long-standing volunteer service with Vet to Vet has already led to significant improvements in the organization’s operations.

Thanks to Christian Coomer’s leadership, Vet to Vet has expanded its outreach while simultaneously reducing operational expenses—ensuring that more resources go directly to veterans in crisis. His experience as a Georgia lawyer, judge, and legislator positions him uniquely to lead Vet to Vet’s life-saving mission with integrity, efficiency, and vision.

Under the direction of Christian Coomer, Vet to Vet of Georgia, Inc. is poised to increase its impact and continue its vital work—saving the lives of veterans and providing the support they have earned.
