Use Cards to Promote a Startup Business

A startup business needs a lot of hard work. In addition, networking helps things tremendously. There are numerous ways to network for a startup; yet, in this article, only business cards are addressed. Business cards make a startup ready for business.

Startup Business Tip #1 – Business doesn’t wait for invitations

Always be prepared to make a business contact. Again, always be prepared to make a business contact. This means having a business card on your person at all times possible. Don’t get caught at a party, dinner, recreational outing, etc. without your card. Opportunities can come at the most inopportune times.

Startup Business Tip #2 – It is about them

This is a general marketing problem: Many businesses spend time singing their praises rather than informing the customer in regards to how the latter can benefit from the former. Make a business card about how products and services help the customer rather than how great the product or service is.

Startup Business Tip #3 – What to include

A variety of information can make its way onto a startup’s card, but the imperatives must be present: company name, contact name, phone number, and physical address or Web address. In addition, depending on the nature of the startup, other things such as business philosophy and logo help make a good impression.

Startup Business Tip #4 – Quality over frugality

It is understood that a startup business is going to be conservative in regards to its wallet; yet, some things, such as a business card, need to be of good quality. It is recommended to not opt for the economical choice when getting business cards made.

Startup Business Tip #5 – Should you take liberties?

The subheading refers to thinking “outside of the box” when engineering a business card. Most business cards are the same shape and serve the same basic function – to serve as a call to action. Depending on a particular startup (let's say a graphic design firm), it may be beneficial to take liberties with your card in order to show potential clients a skill (in this case, the design firm can come up with a spectacular graphic for their cards in order to showcase to potential clients).
