Entrepreneur Brainstorming Entrepreneurs are frequently celebrated for their bravery and their nonconventional thinking. The latter is produced through a never-ending series of brainstorming sessions. The following article offers suggestions for the next "think tank" meeting. Business Startup Tip #1 – For all to see It is not enough for ideas to be spoken. Topics of discussion need to be illustrated for all participants to see. During the meeting, write topics on an overhead or whiteboard for all to study. Business Startup Tip #2 – Round robin In order to address a problem, write it down on a sheet of paper, and give all members about a minute to introduce a solution. After the minute, have participants pass the paper to the left, read what others have written prior, and use the ideas of others as a springboard. Often, the ideas of others inspire more ideas. Business Startup Tip #3 – Carry around pen and paper Ideas don’t wait for invitations. They may hit at the most unlikely and inconvenient of places. Carrying around a pen and small notepad offers the opportunity to maintain ideas after their materialization. In addition, many people do not realize most cell phones have a place to keep notes. Business Startup Tip #4 – Keep it consistent Brainstorming is important. Establish a specific time on a weekly basis for members to sound their ideas. Be sure to keep to a schedule. Deviating from a schedule may impede the opportunity for good ideas to come to fruition. Business Startup Tip #5 – Give it time For most ideas, it is good to let them sit and settle for about a day or two before going ahead and making any physical implementations. Many times, a group may find that a good idea may seem otherwise after a night to sleep on it and vice versa.
